Police have released surveillance footage in the hopes of tracking down two men who they say robbed a woman at gunpoint after flagging her down for help to jump start an SUV.
Officials shared surveillance footage from this incident on social media on Tuesday.
Police said the incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2026, when two men flagged down a passing motorist at the intersection of Courtland and 11th streets in the Logan section of North Philadelphia.
At that time, a woman pulled over, as could be seen in the video, and moved her vehicle in an effort to help the men as they stood near a silver Jeep Compass that had its hood opened as it was sitting on the roadside.
However, after asking the woman to help them jump start their vehicle, one of the men produced a firearm and stole the victim’s purse.
The men then fled southbound on 11th Street.
Police described one suspect as a man who stood about 5-foot, 8-inches tall, who wore black Adidas pants with a white stripe and a mask at the time the crime was committed. They described the second suspect as a man who stood about 5-foot, 9-inches tall and wore short dreadlocks, a black jacket and black pants during this incident.
The men were believed to have been operating a newer model silver Jeep Compass.
Police are asking anyone who may recognize these individuals or may have information on this incident to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353/3354 or by contacting the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
