A large manhunt is underway after an inmate escaped from a Tennessee prison.
The Tennessee Department of Correction said that 28-year-old Jacob Morley escaped the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville on Sunday.
Morley was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in 2025 of murdering Cody Birchfield three years earlier. He was unaccounted for just before noon and prison staff immediately conducted an emergency count and search of the facility.
Morley reportedly breached a fence while still wearing prison clothes and stole a white 2008 Ford F-350 with a Tennessee license plate.
Morley is described as 5 feet 11, weighing 240 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. He is considered dangerous and is now on the state’s most wanted list. When he was first arrested, police captured him at the North Carolina state line.
