Multiple trunk or treat events are being hosted across Morgan County to offer a safe setting for families to celebrate Halloween in costume, take part in games and share treats for kids of all ages.

Members of South Morgan Volunteer Fire Company handed out treats to kids and families at their annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 23.
Trunkers set up, decorated their vehicles and were ready to hand out treats to costumed visitors on October 23 at the South Morgan fire station.

On Friday, October 23, South Morgan Volunteer Fire Company held their Trunk or Treat at the fire station along Winchester Grade Road. Treaters received a free hot dog and chips, hot chocolate and a chance to take a haunted hay ride through the fire company’s spooky woods area. Trunkers decorated in a variety of themes and handed out candy, apples and other treats to more than 300 children and their families.

Costumed kids and families filled the grounds of Pentoney Brothers Excavating for the annual 304 Wild Hogs Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 24.
The Flintstones were a popular stop at the 304 Wild Hogs trunk or treat.

On Saturday, October 24, 304 Wild Hogs club and Pentoney Brothers Excavating hosted their annual Trunk or Treat with a wide array of games, crafts, a pumpkin roll contest, free food and trunkers who shared treats with more than 500 attendees.

Community events continue this week at schools and around the county, culminating in traditional trick or treating on Saturday, October 31 in the Town of Bath and in the Town of Paw Paw.

In Berkeley Springs, trick or treating will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In Paw Paw, it will start at 5 p.m. in the town limits and run through 7 p.m.

Residents and businesses in town can welcome trick or treaters by turning on their porch lights or standing outside their businesses to invite a visit. Motorists are urged to take extra precautions driving on Saturday, when small children will be out and about and some merrymakers may be in dark costumes that are hard to see.
