COLUMBUS — A 22-year-old man faces multiple felony charges after deputies investigated a domestic battery incident that authorities said occurred overnight and into Sunday morning at a residence in the 11000 block of South 800 West.
David Sindlinger of Columbus was taken into custody Sunday evening after deputies responded around 4:37 p.m., according to authorities.
The victim, who lives with Sindlinger and shares a child with him, went to a neighbor’s home to call for help and report the incident, authorities said.
Deputies said Sindlinger is accused of battering his live-in girlfriend and pointing a firearm at both the woman and their child.
Following his arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for the residence to locate a firearm and suspected narcotics. During the search, suspected cocaine was found inside the home, deputies said.
Sindlinger faces preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, strangulation, criminal confinement, possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
He remained in custody Sunday evening.
